Wilkie made several early-season appearances for Scottish Premier League side Dundee in 2000-01 before dropping out of the reckoning and in January and he joined Third Division Plymouth Argyle on loan. He played in two away games for the Pilgrims before returning north of the border but his only subsequent appearance in the starting line-up came in the last game of the season against Hearts. Wilkie is a highly rated central defender who has been tracked by several top English clubs.
