Out of contract at Shrewsbury Town, Lee joined Brighton & Hove Albion in the summer of 2000 but, rather appropriately for a player wearing the number 13 shirt, he enjoyed very little luck in the 2000-01 season.
He suffered a hand injury that kept him out for a few weeks in the early part of the campaign and injured his knee in a car accident towards the end of the year.
Then when Bobby Zamora was injured in late March, Lee missed his opportunity due to suspension.
He is a tough centre forward with a low centre of gravity that enables him to turn defenders.
He was placed on the open to offers list in the 2001 summer leading to his eventual move to Oxford United.
Lee joined Leyton Orient in July 2004 with a two-year contract.
After a loan spell, Lee joined Chester City in January 2007 with a contract to June 2008 before being made available for transfer in July 2007.
