Welsh Under-21 international who was on the fringes of the Liverpool squad despite scoring in his one first team appearance for them (versus Hull City).
Layton was made available for transfer by Cardiff City in May 2003 before his contract was cancelled in November 2003. He joined Swansea City in March 2004 on non-contract terms and Mansfield Town in December 2004 on the same basis.
