Goodridge had a rather frustrating time at Bristol City in 2000-01 and although he featured a number of times from the subs' bench he made the starting line-up on only one occasion. He rather surprisingly went on loan to Cheltenham in February and made a big impression in his first month at Whaddon Road. He became a key figure for the Robins helping the team stage a late bid for a place in the play-offs, but proved a little less effective following a spell on international duty and returned to Ashton Gate at the end of the campaign. Goodridge is a skilful and exciting winger with a tremendous long throw. He continued to captain the Barbados national team, leading them to their best-ever World Cup qualifying performance and a place in the finals of the Copa Caribe tournament in May and winning a further 11 caps during the season.
