A Republic of Ireland international at full and Under-21 levels, he first came to the Football League in 1991 to join Brighton & Hove Albion from Kilkenny.
However, after a year, he left them and was not seen again until he joined Millwall.
Later a versatile Northampton Town midfield player, he prefers a role in the centre of the park although he can also play wide on either flank if required.
A regular in the Cobblers' line-up throughout 2000-01, he finished the campaign as the club's second-top scorer with eight league goals.
Comfortable on the ball, Dave likes to run at opposition defender and also has a powerful shot.
Dave was made available for transfer by Bristol Rovers in October 2004.
He joined Rushden & Diamonds in July 2005 on a one-year contract.
