Damien Francis was a revelation in his first season as a regular for Wimbledon in 2000-01 and succeeded Robbie Earle as the box-to-box player in midfield in almost seamless fashion.
He played with poise, skill and commitment until suffering a knee ligament injury in the FA Cup tie with Middlesbrough that unfortunately put him out of action until the end of the campaign.
Damien joined Norwich City in July 2003 ona three-year contract for an undisclosed fee. This was extended to June 2008 in September 2004.
Damien joined Wigan Athletic in August 2005 with a three-year contract.
He joined Watford in July 2006 in a three-year deal.
Damien retired in October 2008 due to a knee injury.
