After breaking down in pre-season training, Chris Sedgwick had to undergo a knee operation that kept him out of the Rotherham United first-team squad until Christmas 2000.
He then mainly featured from the subs bench, coming on with great effect on a number of occasions to demonstrate his speed in a wide-right midfield role.
Perhaps the best illustration of this was in the televised game at Walsall when he came on to score a wonderful equaliser.
Chris' contract at Rotherham United was extended to June 2007 in August 2004.
His contract at Preston North End was extended to June 2010 in September 2007.
Chris joined Sheffield Wednesday in July 2010 with a two-year contract.
He joined Scunthorpe United in September 2012 on non-contract terms.
Chris joined Bury in July 2013 with a one-year contract that was extended to June 2015 in May 2014.
