Billy McKinlay

Date of birth22 April 1969
Place of birthGlasgow
NationalityScottish
Weight73 kg
Height1.75 m
PositionMidfielder

A Scottish international with well over 300 club appearances behind him, after recovering from a long-term groin injury, Billy found himself unable to get into the Blackburn Rovers line-up at the beginning of 2000-01.

In October, he joined Leicester City on loan. Unfortunately his only appearance for the Foxes was in the nightmare home defeat by First Division Crystal Palace in the Worthington Cup when he had little chance to impress on a generally lacklustre evening.

He subsequently moved on to Premiership strugglers Bradford City in another loan deal, becoming new manager Jim Jeffries' first signing.

A tough-tackling, no-nonsense midfielder, he went straight into the side and enjoyed a decent run of action until his groin problem flared up again in early February and he made just one more first-team appearance for the Bantams.
