The Hammers had now conceded two or more goals in 13 of their last 16 Premier League games (36 goals in total). This was the first time in their last 14 Premier League home games that they had failed to score.

Only second-in-the-table Tottenham Hotspur (three) had now kept more clean sheets than Southampton (two) after six games of this Premier League season.
