Comments:

League position: 13th All five of West Ham United's wins so far in this Premier League season had now been by a 1-0 margin. The Hammers were now the only team who had yet to score three or more goals in a Premier League game in this season Mark Noble had now converted 15 of his last 17 penalties taken in the Premier League. Havard Nordtveit replaced Dimitri Payet in the third minute of added time in the second-half.

Comments:

League position: 20th This defeat meant that Hull City would be bottom of the Premier League on Christmas Day. 21 of the previous 24 sides in that position went on to be relegated. The Tigers had now conceded the first goal of the game on 14 occasions this season in the Premier League; more often than any other team. City were now on a run of seven consecutive away defeats in the Premier League and they had now failed to score in the last five. Mark Noble's goal was the fourth scored against City by one of their former players in their last five games (also Mo Diame against Newcastle United the EFL Cup and Gaston Ramirez at Middlesbrough and Frazier Campbell against Crystal Palace in the Premier League). Harry Maguire was booked in the fifth minute of added time in the second-half.
