Comments:

League position: 14th West Bromwich Albion scored two goals for the second time in their last 13 games in the Premier League. The Baggies conceded more than two goals for the third time in their last 19 games in the Premier League. They had now lost 11 of their last 18 games in the Premier League. West Bromwich Albion manager Tony Pulis said: "We played a little bit differently with a swivelling set up at the back because they outnumber you through the pitch. At times it worked well but you need the breaks. When you get opportunities you need to take them. We had two really good chances, Salomon's and Grzegorz's. Having said that, they created their own chances and Ben [Foster] was very good in goal. But I can't fault the players, they were fantastic today, they worked so hard as a group."

League position: 1st Manchester City had now made the best-ever ten-game start to a Premier League season with 28 points and a goal difference of plus 29. The Citizens were now unbeaten in 21 games in all competitions (won 17); the longest run without defeat in the club’s history. City had now won six consecutive away games in the Premier League for the first time. Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola said: “I give a lot of credit when you win a lot of games in a row, it helps with confidence but there is a risk to think you can do less and still win. That is the risk. That 90 minutes and the way we played from the beginning showed me a lot because you cannot win all the time by five or six goals – that is not realistic, that is not football at a high level. It is important when you make a good performance to win comfortably and be able to win when you don’t play at a high level. That is a big difference this season because last season when we didn’t play good there was no chance to win.”
