Comments:

League position: 19th This was West Bromwich Albion's biggest home defeat in the Premier League since a 5-0 loss to Manchester United on 27 January 2009. The Baggies had now lost 100 of 236 home games in the Premier League (won 74). Albion had now conceded three own goals so far in this Premier League; the joint-most along with Arsenal. Kieran Gibbs was originally named in the starting line-up before suffering an injury in the pre-match warm-up. Lee Peltier was promoted to the starting XI.

Comments:

League position: 11th Leeds United had now scored 30 goals after 16 games in this Premier League season. The only newly-promoted team to score more at this stage of a season in the division was Newcastle United in 1993-94 (31). This was the Whites biggest away win in the Premier League since a 6-1 victory at Charlton Athletic on 5 April 2003. This was the first time that they had led by a four goals or more in the first-half of an away game in the top division since 20 September 1930 at Blackpool in League Division One (won 7-3, led 5-0).
