League position: 9th This was West Bromwich Albion's biggest win in the Premier League since Burnley's only previous visit to The Hawthorns in the competition on 28 September 2014 when Saido Berahino (2), Craig Dawson and Graeme Dorrans scored the goals in a 4-0 victory. This was only the second time that three different Scotland internationals had scored for a team in a Premier League game. Graham Alexander, Steven Fletcher and Kevin McDonald also scored for Burnley against Manchester City on 7 November 2009. The Baggies had won only one and kept one clean sheet in their preceding nine home Premier League games (lost five).

The Clarets were unbeaten in their three preceding Premier League games (won two). Tom Heaton became the first player to make 50 Premier League appearances for Burnley.
