The Hornets had now won back-to-back games in the Premier League following a run of seven league games without a victory. They were now unbeaten in their last six home games in the Premier League against newly-promoted teams (won three). M'Baye Niang scored in the second minute of added time in the first-half. Craig Cathcart was booked in the fifth minute of added time in the second-half.
