League position: 10th Watford had now scored two or more goals in three consecutive Premier League games for the first time. The Hornets had now won back-to-back games in the Premier League following a run of seven league games without a victory. They were now unbeaten in their last six home games in the Premier League against newly-promoted teams (won three). M'Baye Niang scored in the second minute of added time in the first-half. Craig Cathcart was booked in the fifth minute of added time in the second-half.

League position: 12th This was Burnley’s 100th game in the Premier League (won 24, lost 56). The Clarets had now taken only one point from their 11 Premier League away games so far in this season. Jeff Hendrick's dismissal after six minutes was the quickest in the Premier League since 21 March 2015 when West Bromwich Albion's Gareth McAuley was shown a red card against Manchester City after two minutes.
