Comments:

This was interim manager Ryan Mason's second game in charge of Tottenham Hotspur. He became the first manager to take charge of a club in a major domestic final at such an early stage of his reign since Syd Owen whose first game in charge of Luton Town was the FA Cup Final against Nottingham Forest in 1959. Aged 29 years and 316 days, Ryan Mason became the youngest-ever manager to take charge of a team in a League Cup Final; previously Gianluca Vialli of Chelsea against Middlesbrough in 1998 (33 years and 263 days).

Comments:

Pep Guardiola became the first manager to win the League Cup in four consecutive seasons. He joined Sir Alex Ferguson, Brian Clough and José Mourinho as the only managers to lift the League Cup four times. Pep Guardiola took charge of his 15th major cup final. The only defeat remained in Spain’s Copa del Rey on 20 April 2011. He had now won 30 trophies in his managerial career. Sergio Agüero and Fernandinho became the first players to be involved in six League Cup Final wins, beating the competition record held by City's David Silva and Liverpool's Ian Rush (five each).
