League position: 2nd Tottenham Hotspur had now won seven consecutive league games for the first time since May 1967. Spurs had now won 12 consecutive home league games within a top division season for the first time in their history. Vincent Janssen scored his first goal in the Premier League in open play in his 24th appearance. Tottenham Hotspur manager Mauricio Pochettino said: "At the end of the season when everyone is tired, we need everyone to have the right mental attitude and happiness helps. We now need everyone to rest and get ready for the next few games. The three points are very important to keep our dream."

League position: 16th AFC Bournemouth were now without a win in their last seven away games in the Premier League (lost four). Only Hull City (67) and Swansea City (68) had now conceded more goals than the Cherries (63) so far in this Premier League season. They had now conceded three or more goals in 12 Premier League games so far in this season (played 33). AFC Bournemouth manager Eddie Howe said: "We know we need more [points]. We've known all along. The danger is if everyone says, 'You're safe.' We've got to focus the players' minds that we're not."
