After their stuttering start to the season, Torquay were delighted to welcome back Tony Bedeau from injury. The speedy striker was on hand to save a point with his third goal in five days. It was an unlikely point as a corner count of 12 to 4 in the visitors' favour would suggest, especially as Lincoln are renowned for their threat from flag kicks. With so many attempts, it was a mild suprise that they only managed to convert one. David Cameron rose at the near post to divert Justin Walker's inswinger from the left goalwards. Paul Smith was later unable to convince the former soldier that he had nudged the ball past Robbie Herrera at the far post. The Imps dominance saw the Gulls' woodwork struck by Cameron before the break and by Marcus Stergiopoulos in the second half. A second City goal seemed only to be a matter of time. The wastefulness proved expensive when Bedeau showed how it should be done. He left four defenders in his wake then cut in from the left before a wicked deflection lifted his right foot volley over Alan Marriott. Frustration appeared to get the better of Lincoln's no nonsense approach and, after four Imps had gone into referee Olivier's book, Paul Mayo was sent-off after pulling down Kevin Parker.
