Swansea City had now won two of their last 17 Premier League games (lost 12). The Swans had now conceded at least three goals in nine of their last 13 Premier League games. This loss equalled City's heaviest-ever home defeat in the Premier League (also 1-4 versus Manchester United on 17 August 2013).

The Hammers had now won three consecutive Premier League games for the first time since March 2016.
