Comments:

League position: 18th Sunderland had now won only one of their last 11 Premier League games and scored two goals in their last four league games. The Black Cats would have equalled a club record of five consecutive draws in the Premier League, had this game finished level.

Comments:

League position: 1st At the end of this game, Leicester City were ten points clear at the top of the Premier League with five games to play. Tottenham Hotspur's defeat of Manchester United later in the day reduced their advantage to seven points. It also meant that the Foxes would play in the UEFA Champions League for the first time unless Liverpool took the fourth qualifying place by winning this season's UEFA Europa League. They had now have kept five consecutive clean sheets in the top division for the first time in their history, equalled their club record of 21 wins in a top division season (also 1928-29 and 1965-66, both 42-game seasons) and won five consecutive Premier League games for the first time. Jamie Vardy became the first Leicester City player to score 20 goals in a top division season since Gary Lineker in 1984-85.
