Comments:

League position: 10th Stoke City had now lost two of their last ten Premier League games (won six) and kept six clean sheets in their last eight league outings. Along with bottom-of-the-table Aston Villa, the Potters were now the joint-lowest scorers so far in this Premier League season with 13 goals from their 15 games. At the 15th attempt, this was the first time they had scored more than one goal in a Premier League game against Manchester City. Marko Arnautovic scored with both of his shots on target as well as hitting the woodwork twice, all in the first half.

Comments:

League position: 3rd Manchester City had now failed to score in three consecutive Premier League away games for the first time since April 2009 when they had lost on three visits to London against West Ham United, Chelsea and Arsenal and had now kept only two clean sheets in their last ten league games. City had now gone four games without an away win in the Premier League. The Citizens had now won none of their last 59 Premier League games in which they’ve been down by at least two goals (three draws, 56 defeats), since a 3-2 win at Norwich City on 28 February 2005. After 73 minutes, Fernando went off injured after Manchester City had used all subs so completed the match with ten men.
