League position: 11th Southampton conceded three goals in the first-half of a Premier League game at St. Mary's Stadium for the first time since April 2005 versus Norwich City. The Saints had now won one of their last eight Premier League games (lost four). They had now scored 25 goals in 28 games in the Premier League since the beginning of April 2007, and 12 in their last 17 home Premier League games.

City scored four goals in an away game in the Premier League for the first time since a 4-4 draw at Tottenham Hotspur in February 2004.
