Comments:

This was the first time that England had not made a substitution during a game since the Euro 96 semi-final against Wembley. Current manager Gareth Southgate was in the starting XI. The Three Lions were now unbeaten in the last 18 meetings with Poland (won 12); the longest-ever such run against a non-British team. Harry Kane had now scored in 15 consecutive qualifiers in the FIFA World Cup and UEFA European Championship. England named 11 of a possible 12 substitutes.
