Comments:

League position: 19th Middlesbrough had now been involved in seven goalless draws in this Premier League season; at least three more than any other team. Boro were now without a win in their last 14 Premier League games. They had now failed to win in their first 12 league games of a year for the first time in any division. Middlesbrough caretaker manager Steve Agnew: "I thought the lads were terrific in terms of their effort and commitment, and I thought we deserved to win the game. It leaves us six points short of where we need to be with a game in hand."

Comments:

League position: 12th Burnley now remained as one of only two teams in the Premier League and Football League without an away league win so far in this season (also Rotherham United). The Clarets had now kept clean sheets in three of their last four Premier League games. They had now failed to win in 16 consecutive away league games for the first time since March 2010. Stephen Ward was booked in the first minute of added time in the first-half. James Tarkowski replaced Ashley Barnes in the fourth minute of added time in the second-half. Burnley manager Sean Dyche said: "These games can be awkward, and I thought it was today, so I was pleased we got through that and somewhat delivered a performance. And we did enough to get the point and another clean sheet."
