Comments:

League position: 9th Manchester United avoided failing to win any of their opening five home games of a league season for the first time since 1972-73 in League Division One. United avoided equalling their club record of failing to score in three consecutive home games in the top division for the first time since May 2002. Seven of the 14 goals that Bruno Fernandes had now scored in the Premier League had been penalties.

Comments:

League position: 18th West Bromwich Albion had now scored one goal in their last five games in the Premier League. Albion had now failed to win in their opening nine games of a league season for the second time in their history; also 1985-86 in League Division One. The Baggies and Arsenal remained as the only two teams that had yet to concede a goal in the opening 15 minutes of a game so far in this Premier League season. West Bromwich Albion were awarded a penalty after 46 minutes for a foul but the decision was reversed after a VAR review. Former Manchester United goalkeeper Sam Johnstone saved Bruno Fernandes' penalty after 55 minutes but the spot-kick was retaken following a VAR review.
