Comments:

League position: 6th Manchester United now remained unbeaten in their last 17 Premier League games (won nine) and had not conceded more than one goal in a game during that run. United were now unbeaten in their last 21 home games in all competitions (won 14). Zlatan Ibrahimović failed to convert a penalty in a league game in the 72nd minute of this game for the first time since 22 September 2015 when playing for Paris St Germain against Guingamp in Ligue 1. Manager José Mourinho said: "If we didn't win it was because Boruc made an amazing performance. It was because we were not lucky. It was because we were not good enough to materialise in goals the dominance that we had."

Comments:

League position: 14th Former Manchester United trainee Josh King became only the 14th player in Premier League history to score a penalty at Old Trafford for the opposing side. He had now scored six goals in his last nine Premier League appearances and five in his last five away games. Drew Surman was shown the first red card of his senior career and became the 40th visiting player to be sent-off at Old Trafford in the Premier League. Artur Boruc had now saved four of the last seven penalties he has faced in the Premier League. Shortly before half-time, Tyrone Mings appeared to stamp on Zlatan Ibrahimović's head followed by the Swede then catching the defender with an elbow moments later. Both incidents went unpunished and Cherries assistant manager Jason Tindall later commented: "I haven't been able to see any of the incidents or the goals back on replay but the lads were saying that Tyrone has been elbowed and if that's the case then maybe the referee would have done something different had he seen it."
