Comments:

League position: 2nd This was Manchester City's first goalless draw in the Premier League at the Etihad Stadium since the visit of Huddersfield Town on 6 May 2018. City had scored 21 goals in their four preceding home games in all competitions. They failed in their attempt to become the third team to win four consecutive home games in the top division by a margin of five or more goals after Aston Villa in 1899 and Everton in 1931. Kyle Walker was sent-off in the incident that led to Southampton being awarded a penalty after 61 minutes. As the decision was reversed after a VAR review, the red card was withdrawn.
