Raheem Sterling became the first Englishman to score 20 or more goals in a top division season for City since current coach Brian Kidd in League Division One in 1976-77 (21). They had now won four of their last nine games in the Premier League by a 5-0 margin.

The Canaries failed to score in 20 games in this Premier League season; more than any other team. City became the third team to lose ten consecutive games in the Premier League; also Sunderland in September 2005 and Aston Villa in April 2016. Since the re-start of the Premier League in June 2020, they were they were the only team to lose all of their league games (played nine, scored one goal, conceded 23). Onel Hernández scored after eight minutes but the goal was disallowed after a VAR review due to an offside decision. Norwich City named only eight out of a possible nine substitutes
