The Terriers had now lost their opening two games of a top division season for the first time since 1954-55. They had now won one of their last 12 games in the Premier League. Jon Gorenc Stanković made his Premier League debut in this game and scored his first goal for the club. It was his first appearance in any competition since Town’s 5-1 defeat at Manchester City in a FA Cup 5th round replay on 1 March 2017.
