Comments:

League position: 1st On the day that champions Manchester City were presented with the Premier League trophy, this was only the second time they had failed to score after 36 games of this Premier League season (also 0-0 at Crystal Palace on 31 December 2017). This was only the third time that City had failed to score in a home game in the Premier League under manager Pep Guardiola (also 0-0 versus Stoke City in March 2017 and 0-0 versus Manchester United in April 2017). Had they won this game, it would have set a new Premier League record of 31 wins in a season. It would also have equalled the all-time top division record set by Tottenham Hotspur in 1960-61. A win would also have set a new Premier League record of 96 points in a season, surpassing the 95 points by Chelsea in 2004-05.

League position: 16th At the end of their first season in the Premier League, Huddersfield Town were now three points clear of the bottom three with two games to play (Chelsea away and Arsenal at home).
