Comments:

Liverpool became the fourth club to win 500 games in the Premier League; also Manchester United (630), Arsenal (544) and Chelsea (538). This was the Reds' biggest win in an opening league game at Anfield since 1932 when they beat Wolverhampton Wanderers 5-1 in League Division One. Mohamed Salah scored his 33rd goal in his 50th career appearance in the Premier League (33 for Liverpool). Sadio Mané became the first Liverpool player since John Barnes between 1989-90 and 1991-92 to score in three consecutive opening league games of a season.

Comments:

West Ham United had now lost 12 opening games of a Premier League season; more than any other team. The Hammers won only three away games in the Premier League in the previous season (lost ten). They also lost their opening game of the 2017-18 season by a 4-0 margin (at Manchester United).
