The Reds remained unbeaten in their opening 12 home games of a Premier League season for the first time since 2011-12. Liverpool had now scored 85 goals in all competitions so far in this season; seven fewer than they scored in the whole of previous season. Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain had now scored three goals in a league season for the first time since playing for Southampton in League One in 2010-11.
