Comments:

League position: 9th Liverpool had now conceded the opening goal in nine of their last 11 games in the Premier League. This was the first time that an opposition player had scored a hat-trick in the Premier League at Anfield since Andrei Arshavin of Arsenal in a 4-4 draw in April 2009. Roberto Firmino's first goal was initially disallowed for offside but the decision was subsequently overturned following a VAR review. With his second, he had now scored 50 goals at Anfield in all competitions.
