Comments:

This was new manager Claudio Ranieri's first competitive game incharge of Leicester City. The Foxes last scored three goals before half-time of a Premier League game on 25 October 2003 at Wolverhampton Wanderers. The Foxes had now lost just one of their last seven Premier League games at the King Power Stadium; six wins. Jeff Schlupp was booked in the first minute of added time in the second half. The Premier League’s Goal Accreditation Panel ruled on the following: - Leicester City’s fourth goal against Sunderland on Saturday 8th August 2015 has been confirmed as a Marc Albrighton goal. (Circular 1 – 13th August 2015)

Comments:

Sunderland had now won one of the last eight Premier League games against Leicester City (drawn three and lost four). Sunderland are now winless in six Premier League season openers since beating Bolton Wanderers on 15 August 2009; four draws, two defeats. Jermain Defoe had now scored in 15 different Premier League seasons.
