Comments:

League position: 17th Hull City had now won four consecutive home games in the Premier League for the first time. This was the first time that the Tigers had won a game by a two-goal margin after having had a player sent-off in the first-half since Dean Windass was dismissed after only ten minutes of a 3-1 win against Bradford City at Boothferry Park in League Division 2 on 2 October 1993. City had now received three red cards in their last ten Premier League games. Oumar Niasse was sent-off after 25 minutes. However, his claim for wrongful dismissal was upheld and the red card withdrawn. Hull City manager Marco Silva said: "Our boys were fantastic and they deserved it. I'm really happy but we still have four games to fight. Maybe in January no one would believe in our club to survive. I don't know what the future is."

League position: 10th Watford had now lost their last four away games in the Premier League. The Hornets had now failed to score in seven of their last nine away games in the Premier League. They had now seen their opponents have a player sent off in three of the last ten Premier League games. Watford manager Walter Mazzarri said: "We underestimated the danger, and we got caught out on their first counter-attack since the red card. They attacked with pace. We made silly mistakes and it's one of those games where if we didn't win, we should have at least drawn and this makes me angry."
