League position: 17th With this win and Swansea City's defeat by Tottenham Hotspur, Hull City moved out of the bottom three for the first time since 21 October 2016. This was the third time that City had scored four or more goals in a Premier League game (6-0 v Fulham on 28 December 2013 and 4-0 at Cardiff City on 22 February 2014). Only Chelsea (23), Tottenham Hotspur (23) and Everton (21) had now gained more points in the Premier League than the Tigers (17) since Marco Silva was appointed manager on 5 January 2017. Hull City manager Marco Silva said: "When I came things were not good, the atmosphere was not the best and many people don't believe. If you don't believe, it is impossible. Today was a good day but nothing is finished today."

Comments:

League position: 19th Álvaro Negredo's goal was Middlesbrough's first goal in an away game in the Premier League since a 1-2 defeat at Manchester United on 31 December 2016 (478 minutes). Boro conceded four goals in a game for the first time since a 3-4 defeat at Fulham in the League Championship on 25 April 2015. On his Premier League debut, this was James Husband's first league appearance for Middlesbrough since their visit to Sheffield Wednesday in the League Championship on 28 February 2015. Middlesbrough caretaker manager Steve Agnew: "It is not the result we wanted. To score the goal early on, from that we got carried away with the emotions of the game and we were poor defensively. Everyone takes responsibility for that."
