League position: 15th York City's goal was originally reported as an own goal by Charlie Lee. He later denied any involvement and the scorer was duly amended to Patrick McLaughlin. Confirmation was posted on the club's official web site on 4 February 2013: "York City Football Club has been informed of the official decision by the Dubious Goals Committee regarding The Minstermen's goal at Gillingham during the 1-1 draw on Saturday 26th January. "The goal has been awarded to Patrick McLaughlin. "Previously the goal had been credited as an own goal by Gillingham's Charlie Lee however the goal was referred to the committee for a final decision. "We have asked our partners in the local media to change their records, as we will be doing ourselves, and this brings Patrick McLaughlin's goal total to four for the season so far."
