Kick-off: 8.45pm local (7.45pm GMT) England were fortunate that a goal by Mario Gómez on 27 minutes was disallowed for offside, whilst the referee was very lenient not to give Mats Hummels and Emre Can bookings in the first 30 minutes. Towards the end of the half, Jack Butland injured himself and then failed to kick the ball out despite having two opportunities. Toni Kroos was quick to take advantage of the situation, beating the keeper at the inside post before Butland was finally substituted. Despite some promising England endeavours early in the second half, especially from Dele Alli, Mario Gómez, scored with a towering header on 57 minutes. Before Germany could settle, Harry Kane gave England renewed hope with a Cruyff turn in the box, giving Manuel Neuer no chance. The comeback was completed by Jamie Vardy who scored a sublime goal shortly after coming on for Danny Wellbeck. In the dying minutes, Alli should have won the game as Vardy presented him with an easy chance in front of goal but he marred an otherwise excellent performance by shooting over the bar. It was left to Eric Dier to score a glorious winner - a minute into injury time - heading into the back of the German net and giving England's young guns a famous 3-2 victory in Berlin.
