League position: 4th With this win, Exeter City had now won seven consecutive competitive games for the first time in their history. City had previously won six in a row in 1904-05 (East Devon League), 1932-33 (Division Three South) and 1976-77 (League Division Four). David Wheeler scored for the seventh consecutive game to break the club record held by Henry Poulter since the 1932-33 season. Reuben Reid was originally named in the starting line-up before suffering an injury in the pre-match warm-up. Liam McAlinden was promoted to the starting XI with Matt Oakley taking his place on the bench.
