Comments:

League position: 11th This was Everton's first defeat at Goodison Park in 2015 in all competitions (six wins and five draws in 12 games). By not scoring, their run of scoring in seven successive Premier League matches came to an end. They had won their last four home games without conceding a goal. Everton have not conceded a first-half goal at home in the Premier League since Boxing Day against Stoke City; a run now of nine games.

Comments:

League position: 16th At kick-off, Sunderland were in 18th position (the final relegation place). Danny Graham scored his first Premier League goal for Sunderland. His previous goal was scored whilst on loan at Hull City in December 2013. This was the first away league win for the Black Cats in 2015, since beating Newcastle United on 21 December 2014. Sunderland won back to back Premier League matches for the first time in this season. This now meant that Queens Park Rangers were the only club left to achieve this feat in 2014-15. They had won just two of the last 20 Premier League games against Everton (drawn five and lost 13).
