Comments:

Regarding the confusion surrounding England's sixth goal, over the years, it would be common practice to refer to the match report from The Times, so many sources tend to repeat them and they stated Schofield scored the sixth goal (as did the Sporting Life). However, seven other newspapers credited it to Spikesley: The Sportsman, The Field, Manchester Guardian, Liverpool Mercury and three Welsh papers. Four of these papers clearly stated that Spikesley scored from a rebound after Trainer saved from Schofield, which would seem to be the more convincing evidence. [Input amended 26.01.2016]
