Comments:

England failed in their attempt to win their first seven games of a year for the first time. If the the Three Lions had won this game 1-0, it would have been the first time ever that they had won four consecutive games by the same scoreline. With an average of 25 years and 31 days, this was England's youngest-ever starting XI in a game at a major tournament.

Comments:

Scotland had now lost one of their last seven games (won two). The Scots had now avoided defeat in four of their eight games at UEFA European Championship finals (won two). Three members of Scotland’s 26 man squad (Liam Cooper in Hull, Scott McTominay in Lancaster and Che Adams in Leicester) were born in England.
