Comments:

Excluding penalty shoot-outs, England now remained unbeaten in 18 consecutive games in all competitions for the first time since November 1966. Excluding the UEFA Nations League, this was the first qualifier played at Wembley that they had failed to win since the visit of Ukraine in the FIFA World Cup in September 2012. Excluding penalty shoot-outs, three of the last six goals conceded by the Three Lions at Wembley had now been penalties. This was the first time that five current Manchester City players had been selected in an England starting XI (Kyle Walker, John Stones, Phil Foden, Jack Grealish and Raheem Sterling).

Comments:

Hungary named ten of a possible 12 substitutes.
