Comments:

Excluding penalty shoot-outs, Denmark had now lost consecutive games for the first time since October 2016. One of the five nations to remain unbeaten during qualification for Euro 2020, the Danes had now lost their last four games at UEFA European Championship finals and five of the last six. Timed at one minute and 38 seconds, Yussuf Poulsen's goal became the second-quickest in the history of the UEFA European Championship finals after Dmitri Kirichenko for Russia against Greece in 2004 (one minute and seven seconds).

Comments:

Following Italy a day earlier, Belgium became the second team to qualify for the knockout stages of Euro 2020. The Red Devils had now won 21 of their last 25 games (lost one). Dries Mertens become the fifth player to make 100 appearances for Belgium. The five centurions were all members of the current squad; also Jan Vertonghen, Toby Alderweireld, Eden Hazard and Axel Witsel.
