Comments:

League position: 16th Crystal Palace had won six of their preceding nine games in the Premier League. The Eagles had now failed to score in five of their last nine home games in all competitions. Following a run of three consecutive home wins in the Premier League, Palace had now failed to win any of their last three games at Selhurst Park. Crystal Palace manager Sam Allardyce said: "We got nervous. We started very well, but then fell foul to our inefficiencies, not clearing the box and that goal got the nerves jangling. We have worked very hard to keep our destiny in our own hands. Burnley have had a full week to prepare and I think that showed today."

League position: 14th At the 18th attempt, Burnley became the last team to win an away game in the Premier League in this season. This was the Clarets' first win in the top division in London since Ray Hankin scored the only goal in a win at Queens Park Rangers in League Division One on 11 January 1975. They had now taken 102 points from their 111 games in the Premier League to become the 40th club to reach the 100 points mark. Jon Flanagan replaced Stephen Ward in the first minute of added time in the first-half. Burnley manager Sean Dyche said: "We have had our fair share of critics on the road in the Premier League and I understand why, but we showed our hunger today. We won the one v one battles, which we knew we would have to do against a team who are on a roll. We will keep going. That is my mentality, just keep going until the end of the season and then see where we are."
