Yerry Mina became the first recognised defender to score three goals at a World Cup finals since West Germany's Paul Breitner in 1974. England had now won three of their last nine knock-out games at the World Cup finals; also versus Denmark in 2002 and Ecuador in 2006. Colombia had now scored in all of their last nine games at World Cup finals.
