Comments:

League position: 5th Chelsea had now won two of their last nine league games against the reigning Premier League champions (also 3-1 versus Manchester United on 19 January 2014). Diego Costa scored his seventh Premier League goal of this season in eight games. Last season, he did not score his seventh goal until his 18th appearance on 16 Janunary. Eden Hazard had now scored four goals in last six Premier League appearances at Stamford Bridge. He had scored four goals in his previous 24 home Premier League outings.

Comments:

League position: 13th Leicester City wore black armbands as a mark of respect for the late King Bhumibol Adulyadej of Thailand who died earlier in the week aged 89. Thailand is the homeland of The Foxes's owners, the Srivaddhanaprabha family. City had now failed to score in three Premier League games in this season; the same number as in the whole of 2015-16. The Foxes became the fourth reigning top division champions to lose their opening four away league games and the first since Blackburn Rovers in 1995-96.
