Comments:

League position: 16th Cardiff City had now lost their last 15 games in the Premier League against the big six opponents, conceding 48 goals. The Bluebirds conceded three or more goals in the first-half of home games for the third time in this Premier League season; also against Manchester City on 22 September 2018 and Manchester United on 22 December 2018. City failed in their attempt to keep three consecutive clean sheets in the top division for the first time since April 1957.

Comments:

League position: 2nd Tottenham Hotspur had now won nine of their last 11 games in the Premier League (lost two). Spurs had now failed to score in one of the 30 games they had played in all competitions so far in this season. They had now equalled their club record for the most away wins in a Premier League season (also ten in 2012-13, 2013-14 and 2017-18). Harry Kane had now scored against each of the 28 opposition teams he had faced in the Premier League. He had now scored five goals in the Premier League in games played on New Year’s Day; more than any other player.
