Comments:

League position: 7th Burnley had now completed a run of six consecutive top division games without defeat for the first time since February 1975. Only four goals had now been scored at Turf Moor in four Premier League games so far in this season; fewer than any other ground. The Clarets had now scored three goals in their last five home games in the Premier League. Burnley manager Sean Dyche said: “It’s a definite sending off just because it’s the laws of the game. I’m not bothered about players putting themselves about, I quite like it. I think the game is missing that, actually. But it is a definite sending off. They’re two yellows, but I think the second one possibly was a straight red."

League position: 14th West Ham United had now won only one of their last 12 away games in the Premier League (lost six). Andy Carroll was shown two yellow cards in the space of 99 seconds. Since Slaven Bilic became their manager in June 2015, the Hammers had now been shown 12 red cards in the Premier League; three more than any other team. West Ham United manager Slaven Bilic said: “I’ve got mixed emotions. When we were eleven against eleven, we were passing the ball and created a lot. We scored the goal and we had the momentum but then that momentum was ruined or stopped by that couple of bookings in the space of two minutes which, for a player of Andy’s experience and everything, basically you can’t do that. It wasn’t deliberate, but you can’t do that very early in a game and that was of course a big blow for us."
