Comments:

Newly-promoted Burnley had now failed to score in eight of their last ten Premier League games. This was the Clarets' first league defeat in 2016 as they were unbeaten in their last 23 games in the League championship. They had now failed to score in only two of their last 19 opening day league fixtures.

Comments:

Swansea City were now unbeaten in their last eight Premier League games played in the month of August (won six). This was the first time that the Swans had kept a clean sheet in a Premier League away game in 2016 (played 11). This will be the ninth time in the last ten seasons that they had begun their league campaign with an away game.
