Comments:

League position: 12th This was Burnley's first win in their last nine games (league and cup). The Clarets had now taken 32 points from their home games so far in this Premier League season; the fifth-highest in the division. With seven games still to play, they had now exceeded their club record points total for a Premier League season (33 in 2014-15). Burnley manager Sean Dyche said: "It was a very important win, not just because of the remaining games but we have been on a really tough run. Five out of our seven games have been away and the two at home against the top two."

Comments:

League position: 11th Stoke City had now lost three consecutive Premier League games for the first time since September 2016. The Potters equalled a club record of failing to score in five consecutive away games in the Premier League. This was City's first defeat in their last ten away games in the Premier League against newly-promoted sides (won four) since January 2014. Stoke City manager Mark Hughes said: "We were the side in the ascendency but they were able to go up and put the ball into the box and it was a good strike but I don't recall them having too many others."
